ICB colleagues and partners attended the Suffolk Show on 28 and 29 May to promote education and awareness of heart health, the importance of monitoring blood pressure, and social prescribing.
Colleagues from the Neighbourhood team, Economic and Health Inequalities, National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme and Citizens Advice Ipswich had conversations with members of the public, providing interactive activities for families and health resources for adults.
Providing the SiSU digital health check machine and blood pressure monitors enabled opportunistic checks and onward signposting as needed.
Chris Lawson, Sizewell C Health and Wellbeing Partnerships Officer said: “The Suffolk Show provides a fantastic opportunity to speak to people in a relaxed, non-clinical environment.
“We found everyone to be genuinely interested in the materials and activities on offer, with children particularly enjoying the models of the human heart and body!
“Attending large events such as the Suffolk Show strengthens awareness of preventative health and understanding of resources which can support people’s wellbeing.”
